The guitars spread out across the mix in a way that pulls you in without being too dramatic. The bass sits low and gives the whole song a darker edge that works perfectly with the vocal delivery. Speaking of vocals, they’re delivered with enough vulnerability to make the lyrics about lost love and lingering memories hit harder than expected.James Taplin handled the mixing after the band recorded at Sing Sing Studios, and you can tell they wanted to keep things organic. The production doesn’t get in the way of the performance, which is always a good sign. The band has clearly figured out their identity here—they’re not trying to be the loudest or the softest, just authentic.
