There’s a certain kind of song that can stick in your head from the first listen. “Bells of Silver” from Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends is that kind of track.

The project belongs to Arne Floryd, formerly of Swedish band Redmoon, and this one comes from his upcoming album “The King and the Sparrow?”, scheduled for May 2026. The song started out in Swedish as “Vagnar av guld” and got a full English rewrite rather than a straight translation. That choice pays off. The lyrics feel warm and grounded, framed as an ode to his children and grandchildren, pulling from childhood memories in a way that never tips into sentimentality.

The Beach Boys influence shows up clearly in the layered melodies. David Myhr from the Merrymakers adds his backing vocals, and honestly that combination is where the song really shines. Andreas Quincy Dahlbäck handles percussion, keeping things organic and unhurried throughout.

Power pop, folk, indie rock with a sixties and seventies sensibility. That could easily go sideways, but here everything clicks. The hooks are soft and they stick. The production has this warm, lived-in quality that suits the subject matter perfectly.

You finish the first listen and want to go straight back. That’s the whole test, really. Lovely, personal songwriting from an artist who clearly has a lot more to say. Go give them a follow on Instagram if you haven’t yet.
