“Wrapped in Warmth” is a beautiful release that you need to hear till the last second. Rebecca Trujillo Vest isn’t trying to knock you sideways. She’s doing something harder: making you actually stop and pay attention to a quiet song.
Osmunda Music has been at this a long time, based out of LA but with roots in Santa Fe, and that context matters. There’s a certain unhurriedness in how this track moves. She recorded it at Earthstar Creation Center, a studio she co-founded herself, and had it mixed in Nashville by Sean Spence. You can hear the care in it. Nothing feels rushed or over-polished.
The song leads into an EP built around gratitude and everyday moments, which, I’ll be honest, sounds like a hard sell on paper. That territory gets saccharine fast. This doesn’t tip that way. The restraint is the whole point. Rebecca’s also a co-founder of Pandion Music Foundation, which supports independent artists, and there’s something about knowing that context that makes the song feel even more considered. This is someone who thinks seriously about what music is for.
