Becky Raisman is not trying to be anyone other than herself on this EP, and honestly, that is the best thing about it. The Mount Pleasant artist has put together four tracks built around confidence, joy, and the kind of self-assurance that does not need to shout to get its point across. And my favorite one is “Moonlight Goddesses”.

The recording process alone tells you a lot about how this project came together. Between Sound Farm Studios and her producer’s house, the EP has a relaxed, personal feel that a big commercial studio setup might have actually ruined. There is a looseness to it that works in its favor. Becky has talked about drawing inspiration from watching old Degrassi episodes and taking songwriting classes, which sounds like an unusual combination, but the result is music that feels grounded and real rather than overthought.

The melodies are easy to like without being forgettable, and the overall mood of the EP stays upbeat from start to finish without ever tipping into territory that feels forced or hollow. Becky clearly enjoys making music, and that comes through in every track. She is not performing happiness, she is actually in it.

If you are after something that puts you in a good headspace without taking itself too seriously, this EP deserves a spot in your regular rotation.
