Scott’s Tees put together a bedroom recording that sounds exactly like a bedroom recording, and I mean that as a compliment. This Edmonton solo artist used a Tascam and Audacity to capture “We Move As Fast As Storms Allow”, and you can tell every part was carefully considered even if the equipment wasn’t fancy. The result is a track that prioritizes the song itself over trying to sound expensive.

The chorus harmonies are where this really shines. Scott’s Tees clearly knew those vocal layers would carry the moment, and they absolutely do. They’re warm and they stick with you after the song ends. Growing up on Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Iron and Wine apparently left a mark, but this isn’t copying anyone, it’s just good songwriting with alt-rock and folk roots showing.

Writing about dreams can get messy fast, but this avoids getting too vague or pretentious, and the lo-fi approach won’t appeal to everyone who needs crisp production, but if you like hearing an artist work with limited tools and still pull off something memorable, give this a listen. Scott’s Tees wants to level up the recording quality eventually, which makes sense, but this version captures something genuine that’s worth preserving.
