Litvar hit a whole new level with their third record, turning deep personal grief into something genuinely beautiful. The Connecticut band takes a step back from their usual heavy synth setups, letting a Gibson J-45 acoustic take center stage. That acoustic core gives the entire record a warm, grounded feeling that grabs you right from the start.
Track three, “Real Life”, stands out immediately. Its chorus hits a fantastic balance between processing things that went wrong and accepting the chaos of everyday life. Then you hit “What Kind of Man”, which pairs an extremely catchy melody with absolute honesty about breaking out of a trance and fixing your life. It feels like watching someone wake up in real time.
Even when the record dives into heavy moments, like the floating, midnight feel of “Backstab”, the groove keeps everything moving forward.
