Dan Webb’s new track is amazing and deserves your full attention; this piece strips away all the standard song structures you usually expect. Rooted in deep philosophical themes about inner stillness and natural cycles, there are no predictable verse transitions or catchy chorus hooks to lean on here. It’s safe to say it’s the best track I listened to today.
Dan is a talented artist and he pulled together an incredible lineup of heavy-hitting players for this project. Clive Deamer holds down the kit with relentless energy, Tim Lefebvre anchors everything with his steady basslines, Nate Werth adds subtle percussion textures, and Nicole McCabe weaves soaring saxophone improvisations right over the top.
Listening to the track feels remarkably grounding. It hits that sweet spot between spiritual jazz and a laid-back experimental rock jam, reminding me of long night drives where the scenery blurs past and your mind finally clears out. By the time the cymbals crash and the sax starts really stretching out, you realize how much tension built up in such a minimal framework. Make sure to check out the full album down below.
