Consequential’s debut on WoodysWorldRecords NZ is a proper banger that knows exactly where it belongs. This Bury St. Edmunds producer has made a track that slides into your playlist whether you’re stuck at your desk or cruising down the motorway.
The liquid drum and bass runs deep through the core while trance elements pop up at just the right moments, with dub textures filling out the edges. Produced entirely digitally but peppered with real samples (yes, there’s actually audio of the producer’s dog catching a tennis ball mixed in there, and it works better than it has any right to).
Consequential gets the assignment, this isn’t music that demands your full attention or tries to reinvent the wheel, it locks into that sweet spot where electronic music becomes the perfect soundtrack for whatever you’re doing. The basslines hit hard without being obnoxious, and the liquid elements keep everything flowing naturally. For a first release on a fresh label, “Cravin'” shows Consequential already has their sound figured out. The track moves with confidence and never feels like it’s trying too hard to impress anyone.
You should definitely follow Consequential on Instagram because they’ve promised more music coming later this year, and if this debut is any indication, their upcoming releases are going to be worth your attention.
