Joseph Bell’s debut album lands after a year of building buzz, and honestly, it’s incredible. The guy’s come a long way from those Shrewsbury open mic nights, and you can tell he’s put real thought into these songs.

All centered around friendships and relationships getting messy. Joseph just lets the complications exist, and his vocals handle the emotional stuff without getting dramatic about it. The sound sits somewhere between alt-pop and those noughties vibes he grew up with, plus some hip-hop touches that actually work.

The songs move between quiet, thoughtful moments and bigger sections pretty smoothly. After getting BBC support and playing places like Ronnie Scott’s, this feels like the right next step. The production gives everything room to breathe without sounding empty, and the lyrics dig into modern life’s weird contradictions pretty well. It’s the kind of album that gets better with repeated listens.
