Matreya has put together a track that grabs your attention right away. The Birmingham singer-songwriter mixes Afrobeats with soul and R&B, and the combination works really well. His voice sits perfectly on top of live horns and saxophone, giving the whole thing a warm, full-bodied sound. The instrumentation is all live: keys, guitars, brass, and it all comes together in a way that sounds genuine.
This release continues the direction he’s been taking since coming back to music in 2025. After spending time away learning Reiki and practicing meditation and yoga, he’s brought that experience into his music without making it feel heavy-handed, and the core idea here is love as something bigger than just romance, and he gets that across clearly.
