Reetoxa’s Soliloquy is like it came from years of second-guesses and stubborn creative drive finally being pushed out into the open. You can hear the scale of it straight away. It’s a double album, and it really leans into that full-length experience rather than chasing a few quick highlights.

What kept me engaged was how human it feels. Jason McKee isn’t coming across like someone chasing polish for the sake of polish. These songs feel lived in. There’s a lot packed into the record, but it never comes off cold or overly calculated. Even when the arrangements get bigger, the heart of it still feels personal.

The supporting cast helps a lot here. You’ve got bass, drums, piano, backing vocals, sax, and even orchestral parts showing up across the album, which gives the whole thing a wider shape and a stronger sense of movement. The piece that grabbed my attention is “INSATIABLE”.

This is the kind of release I’d put on at night when I actually want to listen to an album from front to back. It asks for a bit of patience, but it gives something back if you meet it halfway and that’s a trade I’m usually happy to make.
