The Burbs take a sharp left turn with “There’s No Time For Presents,” stepping out of their sunlit debut shadows into something far starker. It opens on a low simmer, muted guitars, faintly ominous rhythm, before gradually swelling into a crashing wave of hurt. Brook Mckeon’s voice doesn’t plead for attention; it commands it with restraint, holding tight to the pain without ever overselling it.

For me, the unique lyrics are outstanding and make you enjoy the music more. With this release, The Burbs cement their place as a band unafraid to take risks. This isn’t feel-good music, it’s feel-everything music. And I love that about it. Want to stay updated about new releases in the rest of 2025? Follow the band on Facebook and Instagram.
