Todd Adelman’s *Western Soul* is a heartfelt journey through the dusty backroads of American roots music. Recorded straight to tape in his Catskills studio, this fourteen-track album is steeped in warmth, grit, and soul. With echoes of John Prine and Tom Petty, Todd doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel; he sharpens it, smooths it, and lets it roll at its own unhurried pace. The album flows like a well-worn book of stories, grounded in everyday truths and timeless melodies.
Each track on *Western Soul* feels lived-in, like a friend telling you something you’ve always known but needed to hear out loud, tracks like “Out Of A Kind” and “Vagabond Shoes” are impressive and easy to follow. The production—courtesy of Woodstock’s Danny Blume and a seasoned crew of musicians—is both raw and refined, giving the songs room to breathe. I really enjoyed the depth of this release; it’s honest, human, and full of soul, and my favorite track is “Out Of Gas”.
Todd continues to honor the American songwriting tradition with *Western Soul*, offering a record that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable. Want to stay updated about new releases in the rest of 2025? Follow the artist on Facebook and Instagram.
