TRALALAS’ “Winter on the Vine” is his first single after years in electronic music, from the production to the vocals, everything is incredible here. Heidi Lindahl sings like she’s telling secrets to an old friend. Her voice has this worn-in quality that matches perfectly with the song’s theme of accepting things you can’t change.
The band keeps things simple. Bass, guitar, drums, vocals – nothing fancy, but everything in the right place. Thomas Li produced it with a light touch, letting the song speak for itself instead of drowning it in effects. The Danish musician has made something genuinely affecting here, and if this single hints at what’s coming on the full album in October, we’re in for something good.
