MrZnote just released “Boathouse Row” and honestly, it caught me off guard. The Philadelphia rapper sounds fed up with trying to please everyone, and that frustration comes through in every line.
You can tell this guy grew up on Eminem and DMX – there’s that same willingness to get messy with his emotions. But he’s not copying anyone. His voice has this worn-down quality that makes you believe he’s been carrying this stuff around for years. And the music video is worth checking, is just incredible.
Petrofsky Beats created a beat that sounds like it was made for late-night overthinking sessions. It’s got enough grit to support MrZnote’s confessions without drowning them out. The whole thing was recorded in his home studio, which probably explains why it sounds so personal. The mix by Madrug keeps everything clear but doesn’t sanitize the rough spots.
This track won’t change your life, but it might remind you that everyone’s faking it sometimes. MrZnote just decided to stop, and the result is pretty compelling. Follow MrZnote on Instagram to keep up with his journey.
