Sentinel Events named their band after a hospital term for worst-case scenarios, so calling their third album after a medical concept describing two conditions existing simultaneously feels less like a gimmick and more like a band that just commits to the bit.

The Orlando art-rock group brought in eight collaborators, some recorded together in person, others sent parts back and forth without ever meeting. That setup could easily turn into a mess. It doesn’t. “Bad Radiation” with Conflicting Motive and Foxes & Poems has a restless, combative energy that earns it. “Florence Nightingale” with Louvenia goes somewhere genuinely quiet and sits with you after it ends. Voidscan’s remix of “Cold Planet” is the curveball of the whole thing, and honestly one of the more memorable tracks on the record.

If you already know Poor Historian and Trendelenburg Dreams, this picks up the thread without retreading it. If you’re new to the band, the album holds up on its own without needing the back catalog as context. The satirical angle is still there, the confessional lyrics are still there. Go follow Sentinel Events on their socials, because this is the kind of band that moves fast and you’ll want to keep up with whatever they do next. Trust me, you don’t want to be the last one to find out.
