This one genuinely caught me off guard. FURTHER have built something that feels pulled from several different musical timelines at once, and somehow it all holds together.
The album revolves around a concept: a spirit called FURTHER carrying blueprints of creation gathered from distant galaxies and forgotten timelines. That mythology could easily tip into pretension. It doesn’t. The lore gives the project real structure, and each track feels like a genuine chapter. That kind of consistency across a full body of work is harder to pull off than it looks.
When you press the play button, you will find that you have already listened to the whole album. The Overmono, Floating Points, Gesaffelstein and Burial comparisons land. There’s that same tension between club energy and headphone detail that those artists do so well. UK garage rhythms sit beside darker atmospheric textures, and the transitions feel considered rather than chaotic.
If you enjoy electronic music that carries real emotion alongside clean production, this definitely deserves your time. I’ll be paying close attention to what comes next in the rest of the year. Follow FURTHER on Instagram to stay updated on everything coming.
