I have to admit that the new song by Fugu Quintet, titled “Existential Defeat” is quite unique. This dark-jazz piece was released on February 14, 2025, and it immediately sets the mood to be almost eerie. The combination of saxophone, bass, and Tibetan bowls is quite experimental and engaging to the audience. It is possible to sense the band’s struggle through the difficult period in their lives, music being their way to cope with it. It’s like they’re sharing a piece of their soul with us.
