Muhammad \$mith’s latest release, “Sadboi/Happyboi“, is a new wave alt hip-hop, indie R\&B, and trap soul record that is full of emotion. Being a part of the New York music scene and being in Dancingwater, Muhammad $mith captures the themes of identity, love, and loneliness in his music in a very genuine manner. The project is about the experience of being in a crowd but feeling lonely, which is something that many people can identify with. I liked this release a lot, it is strong, passionate, and beautifully put together.
The switch between soft beats and deep lyrics in “Sadboi/Happyboi” makes it relatable while still being intimate. You don’t need to know every word to feel the mood, his voice and sound choices do a lot of the talking.
