I just stumbled upon the latest EP from Brooklyn’s own E.Z.O., and it has been on constant repeat in my headphones all morning. Titled “Spring Steppa”, this refreshing project is a lovely blend of old-school nostalgia and a modern, vibrant bounce. E.Z.O. draws heavy inspiration from 2000s R&B icons like Craig David and Donell Jones, but he weaves those classic vibes with a sharp, contemporary UK-influenced flow that feels entirely his own. It is the perfect soundtrack for the warmer seasons.
The project is showcasing massive personal growth in his songwriting and delivery. What really stands out is how naturally E.Z.O. collaborates. The talented artist brings in stellar features like Kushton Dior from the Bay Area, alongside New York’s own RACH and Naveed Ahmed. Every guest artist brings their own unique swagger to the table, making the tracklist feel cohesive yet full of surprises. The ones that caught my attention are “Horizon”, “SLANT”, and “Inside out.”.
This EP is a wonderful bridge to his upcoming debut album, “Suburban urban”. It is clear that E.Z.O. is a talented artist on the rise, especially with big plans to showcase his new music at DreamCon in Houston.
You should absolutely go follow his Instagram page right now to stay updated on his upcoming singles like “Summer Pack 3” and his next big steps.
