Trust me when I say this, give it two or three plays, and you will start catching things you missed the first time around, which says a lot about how much is going on beneath the surface.

Lois Powell brings a vocal performance here that is hard to pin down in the best way. The layered harmonies build quietly in the background while the lead vocal stays focused and direct, talking to the listener like a conversation rather than a performance.

Night Wolf’s production choices are interesting throughout and while the synth keeps things grounded in something darker and more electronic. Then right at the end, the beat kicks harder and makes you want to play it again. It catches you off guard in a good way and sticks with you after the track ends. Four releases in, this duo clearly knows what they are doing and more importantly, they know what they are not doing, which is trying to please everyone at once.
