Tom Minor’s new single hits different. The London musician takes a messy relationship situation and turns it into three minutes of uncomfortable truth-telling that somehow feels comforting.

Right from the start, you’re dropped into the middle of someone else’s argument. Tom sings about sweet nothings that don’t mean much and truths that just make everything worse. His voice is wonderful and rich, and the chorus keeps coming back to this idea that both people are equally lost, which is refreshingly honest. Most breakup songs paint one person as the villain, but Tom admits they’re both drowning in their own ways.

Teaboy Palmer’s production keeps everything simple, no fancy tricks, just guitars and vocals doing the heavy lifting. The whole thing sounds like it was recorded in someone’s bedroom, which works perfectly for such an intimate confession. Follow Tom Minor on Instagram @tom.minor.misdemeanours for more updates.
