Yvonne Lyon and Boo Hewerdine’s “Things Found In Books” is a quiet and poignant album of songs based on the imagination, memories, and empathy. The songs are based on such real-life items as notes, postcards, and forgotten photos that people used to put into books; the idea came to her when she saw a noticeboard in a second-hand bookshop in Culzean Castle. These objects initiated a creative process that gave a new perspective to the otherwise unnoticed moments of life.

It is a cosy, introspective record, which is about the small things that make up life. Boo and Yvonne get back to the band’s roots as songwriters and present to the audience a beautiful and reflective record that is personal but relatable. That is why I liked how the music makes you stop and think, like turning a page in a photo album. Want to hear more? Follow the artists on social media.
