Okay, so Energy Whores came out swinging with this one. “Pretty Sparkly Things” is basically what happens when you’re fed up with seeing billionaires on your timeline while your rent’s overdue.
Carrie Schoenfeld doesn’t mess around here. She’s straight up calling people out, talking about bills you can’t pay while some pop star’s living it up backstage. It’s brutal but catchy as hell. The weird part is how danceable it is. Like, you’re bobbing your head to a song about how screwed up everything is. Energy Whores pulled off something tricky, they made a club track that actually has teeth. Most electronic stuff just wants you to vibe out, but these guys want you to wake up.
I keep coming back to how real this feels. No fancy metaphors or whatever, just straight talk about influencers and rich kids over beats that actually slap. It’s refreshing when a band just says what everyone’s thinking.
