JW Paris delivers a proper Britpop banger with “Anything”, their latest single that sounds like it crawled out of a Camden pub in 1995, and This London three-piece has nailed the balance between nostalgia and fresh energy, with spiralling guitars and a rhythm section that hits hard from the first note to the last.

Danny Collins and Aaron Forde share vocal duties while Gemma Clarke keeps everything locked in tight on drums. The song deals with that familiar frustration of feeling trapped while desperately wanting to break out, but they handle it with enough attitude to keep things interesting and the chorus gets stuck in your head immediately, spinning around just like the lyrics suggest.

You can pick up traces of Elastica’s bite and Oasis’s confidence, but JW Paris aren’t just copying their influences. They’ve found their own angle on the sound, which is probably why BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music have been supporting them, and with nearly 100k streams on Spotify already and a growing buzz around their live shows, this band is building real momentum.

If you’re into this kind of guitar-driven rock with personality and punch, you should definitely follow JW Paris on Instagram at @jwparismusic to stay in the loop with their new releases and see where they’re playing next.
