Less than two years ago, we introduced you to Mia Porter — a fresh talent that made its debut with the art pop and indie folk EP okay. Today, the Netherlands-based musician has blessed us with a comforting new piece entitled “Meditating in Asia”, which is also the appetizer to her debut album.
With the help of Grammy award-winning trombonist Denzel Mendoza, Porter infuses “Meditating in Asia” with a mystical and ethereal nature. She dives deeper into a fanciful sound keeping her unique and mysterious songwriting. Her invention reinvented vocal rhythm tells a story of wailing heart and pain in the strangest way, as she sings with an ironic blandness “I will neither be crazy nor insane I am going to handle it all entirely on my own when you leave me”.
