Otto Orany has cooked up something genuinely unique with his latest record. If you enjoy music that refuses to stick to one genre, you need to check this out. It features a fascinating mix of classical woodwinds, a groovy rhythm section, and even a harpsichord. The coolest part is how every single track feels like its own distinct little universe, and there are ten tracks in total, and none of them bleed into each other. You get to jump from lighthearted numbers like ‘Tiptoe Elephant’ straight into the jazzy energy of ‘Lions Eat First’. As a listener, you are constantly kept on your toes.

Otto Orany hits this perfect sweet spot where things feel structured yet completely playful. There is a total lack of pretense here, which makes the whole experience incredibly refreshing. The way the woodwinds blend with the heavy bass and drums gives the instrumentation a lot of depth. It can shift from a delicate chamber piece to a tight groove in a matter of seconds and my personal favorite has to be the closer, ‘Trapped in Rap,’ which leaves you wanting more. This project feels like a breath of fresh air in the indie instrumental scene, and it is absolutely worth your time.

Honestly, it is the exact kind of creative risk-taking that keeps me excited about discovering underground music nowadays and make sure to follow the artist on Instagram so you can stay updated on all his future projects.
