Hotel Mira’s “Pity Party”, released on March 14 via Light Organ/604 Records, is a vibrant dive into the highs and lows of human emotion. This Canadian band is an alt-rock band that has four members and is fronted by the charismatic Charlie Kerr. The album swings between euphoric party vibes and the sting of self-reflection, capturing the chaos of chasing thrills while grappling with regret. Kerr’s lyrics combined with the music of the band make the listener feel like they are being told a story that is unique to them but at the same time, everyone can relate to.
This is one of my favorite releases from them because it has both powerful tracks and ballads, which sets it apart from their other albums. The production quality is clear and the synergy of the band is evident in every song. From the catchy chorus to the slow tempo of the song, “Pity Party” is a ride that one would not mind taking again. Want to hear more? Check out the band on Facebook and Instagram.
