Finding a fresh indie release that feels totally genuine can take some effort, but this six-track collection from Brighton singer-songwriter Nellie Feldmann landed in my queue right when I needed it.

Nellie shares that these tunes came together during quiet late-night hours when her overthinking was loud and constant. You can really hear that deep personal processing woven into every single chord progression and vocal harmony. Opener “Giving It All” sets a calm, reflective mood before rolling smoothly into “Turn Down My Shine” and “Intrusive Thoughts”. There is an undeniable honesty to how these songs unfold from start to finish. Nothing feels overcooked or hidden under heavy digital studio tricks. Every single sound choice feels completely intentional and direct.

Tracks like “No One Quite Like You” and “Inner Child” highlight clean acoustic guitar patterns alongside close-up vocals that pull you right into her private headspace. Producer and co-writer Tim Howarth keeps the overall arrangements light and airy, giving Feldmann plenty of breathing room to carry the emotional weight of each lyric. By the time closing track “Time Slips Away” finishes playing, you get a wonderfully clear picture of her perspective on daily human experiences. The subtle melodies tend to stick with you long after the final notes fade out.
